We were thrilled that HRH The Prince of Wales happily agreed to sign a copy of his own Watercolours Book at the launch of the Llandovery Motorbike Weekend. The Book was later auctioned at the Charity Lunch that we held at The Castle Hotel in Llandovery in aid of The Prince’s only Welsh Charity, PRIME Cymru. More than eighty people wishing to support PRIME Cymru enjoyed a fantastic four-course summer themed luncheon and afterwards were keen to support further by taking part in a raffle also in aid of the Charity where local businesses had kindly donated a huge array of fantastic prizes – A good time was had by all!
On Friday 8th July 2016 HRH The Prince of Wales launched the inaugural Llandovery Motorbike Weekend by dropping the flag on a Parade of bikes through the town. The three day event was triggered by a Charity Lunch in aid of HRH’s only Welsh charity PRIME Cymru (The Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise) which is based in Llandovery. The initiative behind the weekend was to reduce losses arising from road collisions whilst at the same time contribute to the sustainable future of the town. On Saturday, working in partnership with Carmarthenshire Road Safety Team and their engagement partners and Mental Health Charities, visitors had the opportunity to engage in a wide range.
Llandovery Motorbike Weekend Sue and Jonah of Basel Cottage Holidays are pleased to be at the heart of the plans to deliver the inaugural Llandovery Motorbike Weekend. We are thrilled that HRH The Prince of Wales has accepted our invitation to launch this innovative event to assist with both the sustainability of our beautiful town as well as contributing to improved safety on our roads. HRH The Prince of Wales will visit Llandovery on Friday 8th July 2016 during his annual ‘Wales Week’ where he will meet the organisers of the Weekend and supporters of his Welsh Charity, PRIME Cymru as well as representatives from the Road Safety Engagement Team and more.
